Schubert wins 24 Hours of Barcelona

Need For Speed Team Schubert dominated the 24 Hours of Barcelona, taking the win 21 laps ahead of the Brokernet Silver Sting of Bovi Motorsport with Equipe Verschuur securing the final spot on the podium with their Renault Mégane. Schubert Motorsport’s driver quartet of Edward Sandström, Lars Stugemo, Michael Outzen and Peter Posavac led for almost the entire race distance of 669 laps in their GT3 specification BMW Z4 to win the endurance race held at the Circuit de Catalunya. Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola receives Gold Medal

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has been awarded the Gold Medal of Achievement from the Parliament of Catalonia. The Catalan tactician has received the prestigious medal for his contributions to sports in the region, having won a dozen titles in just three years. The award recognizes the 40-year-old’s sporting exploits since he took the reins of the club’s first team in the summer of 2008 after coaching its B squad the year before. Read more…

Audi MedCup Circuit heads to Barcelona

Conde de Godó Trophy being held in Barcelona, Spain starts on Monday September 12th and is the fifth and final regatta in the Audi MedCup Circuit. The final regatta of the season, the Conde de Godó – Barcelona Trophy starts in just one week’s time when the battle for the title might even become a three cornered one as the German flagged team on Udo Schuetze’s Container are still only 11.5 points behind the 52 Series Circuit leaders. Four friends cycle 1,000 miles to Barcelona for charity

Amersham boys Rory Ormiston, Tommy Thornton, Tom Grant and Peter Lord, all aged 20, began their journey today (Aug 25) when they set off from Costa Coffee in the town at 9am heading for Barcelona to raise money for Cancer Research. They hope to complete the challenge in 10 days averaging at about 100 miles per day. The boys sat down and decided on cancer research as their charity because it is something everyone can relate to.
